Ferran Torres: "1-0 is a result we can overcome"
Ferran Torres has been in superb form as of late, with two assists and two goals from the last four games. The VCF Academy product is optimistic ahead of the Copa del Rey game against Getafe, as he explained to VCF Media.
"We're playing good football and, above all, getting good results. We're going to try to get the best possible league results in order to keep climbing the table, and go as far as possible in the cup," he said on Monday.
"We're coming off a good run of results. The game against Getafe wasn't our best, but our morale is at a high after beating Villarreal 3-0. Every game is different. We were focusing on Villarreal, and now we're looking to try and qualify for the next round of the cup."
Whilst the first leg did not go as planned, Torres believes that the 1-0 deficit is not excessive.
"We didn't get a very good result there, but it's a result that we can overcome. We all know that Mestalla will be behind us until the end and it's going to be a good game. In the end, hard work brings rewards. We're turning around the dynamic we had before, and we're fighting to put Valencia CF amongst the best, where the club belongs. The team are very united in search of results.
On a personal level, Torres has had a prominent role in recent games, and he is pleased with his participation.
"I'm confident. I've got good numbers so far, and this is important for helping the team. As for the game against Getafe, the fans are our twelfth man. They are very important for us. You can tell when that isn't there. We want them to believe in us. We'll give our all to go through."
